Golf Conditioning

Did you know that an amateur golfer achieves close to 90% of his or her total peak muscle activity when driving a golf ball?  That intensity level is comparable to lifting a weight that can only be lifted four times before a person reaches total muscle fatigue. With the average number of golf swings with this intensity being 30 or more in a round, you can see that golf is indeed an athletic event.

Unfortunately, most golfers see golf as just a game and not a sport. This perception can result in injuries. The most common injuries among golfers involve the back, shoulder, wrist and elbow.  Proper physical conditioning is essential in preventing injuries and in recovering from injuries as well.

The Fitness For Life Golf Conditioning Program goal is to increase your flexibility, balance, strength and power.  This will be accomplished through the use of exercise balls, medicine balls, stretch cords, machine and free weight movements.  After going through an initial assessment, a conditioning program will be designed for you based on the results of that assessment.
